Counselling Sessions and Fees
Sessions are 50 minutes and the cost is £75 for individuals and £95 for couples. Payment is required at the time of booking to secure the first appointment. For future appointments, payment is required 48-hours in advance (or if you prefer to pay in cash, you can pay at the previous session for the following one), and there is a 48-hour (two working day) cancellation period if you are unable to attend. After that time, no refund is available, although the session may be able to be rescheduled for another time within the same week, subject to availability.
Confidentiality
Counselling sessions are confidential and this confidentiality will apply to any records in accordance with GDPR.
It is considered good ethical practice for counsellors to have regular supervision from an experienced supervisor. Within these settings, I will take care to preserve your anonymity.
In exceptional circumstances I may need to break confidentiality. The circumstances
could include:
1. Where you as a client give consent for the confidentiality to be broken.
2. Where I feel it is appropriate to consult with, or involve other professionals such as your GP in circumstances where there is a risk of harm to you or to a third party. In such cases I will aim to discuss any action with you first and seek to gain your co-operation.
3. Where in extreme cases I am legally compelled by a court of law.
4. Where statutory law requires me to inform the relevant authorities (such as terrorist activities, drug trafficking or abuse of a child or vulnerable adult).
I may keep limited notes from our sessions, but everything is anonymised, sessions will never be recorded, or notes shared, unless legally required.
Working online
All sessions will be in person at TherapEast, unless otherwise agreed.
If we do work online, we will use a formal platform such as Teams, Zoom or Google Meet.
When working online, you must let me know your location, and confirm that you’re somewhere quiet and private. You must keep your camera switched on at all times where possible.
If you're outside of the UK, please do let me know. Please be aware that I am based in the UK and that I am governed by the UK’s jurisdiction.
In an emergency
TherapEast is not an emergency service, and I will only be available within our session times. I am not able to respond to contact outside of these times. If you feel like you are worried or need to talk to someone outside of our sessions, we can discuss who you can contact in an emergency, including The Samaritans, 111 and 999.
